The 2016 Loess Hills Prairie Seminar

June 3 (evening) to June 5 (noon)

Fascinations of the Loess Hills

Celebrating Forty Years of Nature in Western Iowa

The Loess Hills Prairie Seminar, sponsored annually by the Northwest Area Education

Agency, is in its 40th year. It brings together dozens of facilitators and hundreds of

participants of all ages, with diverse interests that relate to natural and cultural history, the

Loess Hills, and prairie. Many field sessions teach about plants, insects, and birds, some

explore nature writing or photography, several offer information about prairie management

and ecology, others feature Native American stories and rituals, and there are many more

topics explored.

The public is invited to attend any session or program of interest. There is no registration fee

and pre-registration is necessary only for those ordering meals.

The entire program, and the optional registration form can be found on the NWAEA website at: http://www.nwaea.k12.ia.us/en/educators/loess_hills_prairie_seminar/.

If more information is needed, contact Penni Kistner at pkistner@nwaea.org or 712-222-6083.
